The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja, Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, has reiterated the commitment of the University’s management to strategic partnerships with individuals and corporate organisations aimed at strengthening the institution and contributing to national development.
Fawehinmi made this known while receiving, at separate times, the Director-General of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR), Dr Dasuki Arabi, and the Managing Director of the Nigerian University Pension Management Company Limited (NUPEMCO), Mr Aliyu Atiku, who paid courtesy visits to his office.
Speaking during the visits, the Vice-Chancellor said the University of Abuja remains open to collaborations that promote capacity building, institutional growth and societal development.
“The University of Abuja is committed to partnering with relevant public and private sector stakeholders to enhance our academic programmes, build capacity and make meaningful contributions to national development,” Fawehinmi said.
Dr Arabi explained that his visit was aimed at exploring areas of collaboration between the Bureau and the University, particularly in capacity-building initiatives.
“Our engagement with the University of Abuja is to identify areas where we can collaborate, especially in strengthening capacity-building programmes that align with public service reforms,” Arabi stated.
On his part, Mr Atiku said the NUPEMCO team visited to congratulate the Vice-Chancellor on his recent appointment and to brief the University management on the company’s proposed corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives within the campus.
“We are here to felicitate with the Vice-Chancellor on his appointment and to inform the University about NUPEMCO’s planned CSR projects that will benefit the campus community,” Atiku said.
In response, Professor Fawehinmi assured both organisations of the University’s readiness to work with them in advancing institutional growth and broader societal development.
