UniAbuja Appoints Udeozor, Ndagi as Deputy Vice-Chancellors

T The University of Abuja (UniAbuja) has announced the appointment of Professor Rosemary Udeozor and Professor Mohammad Umar Ndagi as Deputy Vice-Chancellors, pending ratification by the institution’s Governing Council.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the university following its 92nd Extraordinary Meeting of the Senate held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at the main campus. According to the statement, Professor Udeozor of the Department of Educational Management was appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), while Professor Ndagi of the Department of Arabic was named Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration).

The statement noted that both scholars emerged unopposed during the selection process after two Senate members nominated by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, stepped down for them at the meeting.

UniAbuja described the process as smooth and reflective of the confidence the Senate has in the leadership capacity and academic standing of the newly appointed officers.

Speaking after their emergence, the new Deputy Vice-Chancellors pledged their commitment to advancing the university’s goals and strengthening its administrative and academic systems.

They assured members of the Senate of their readiness to align with the vision of the university’s management.
