Chelsea Hold Ten-Man Arsenal to 1–1 Draw at Stamford Bridge

C Chelsea battled to a hard-earned 1–1 draw against Arsenal in a lively Premier League encounter at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

The Blues broke the deadlock three minutes into the second half when Trevoh Chalobah rose highest to meet a corner, powering a header beyond the Arsenal goalkeeper. Their advantage, however, was short-lived. In the 59th minute, Mikel Merino restored parity for the visitors, guiding home a well-placed cross from Bukayo Saka.

The intensity of the match escalated late in the first half after Moises Caicedo received a straight red card for a reckless tackle on Merino in the 38th minute. Chelsea were forced to play with 10 men for more than 50 minutes, a disadvantage that shaped the remainder of the contest.

Despite relentless pressure from Arsenal, Mauricio Pochettino’s men defended with discipline and organisation, ensuring the visitors were unable to snatch a late winner.
