F FC Barcelona teenage star Lamine Yamal has been named the Best U23 La Liga Player at the prestigious Globe Soccer Awards, in recognition of his exceptional performances during the 2024–25 season.

The 18-year-old received the award on Sunday, turning heads as he arrived at the ceremony in a sleek black suit, capping what has been a remarkable breakout campaign with Barcelona.

Yamal’s season has been defined by dazzling dribbles, composure beyond his age, and double-digit goals and assists across competitions.

Reacting to the honour, Yamal described the award as a reflection of teamwork and trust from his club. “This award means a lot to me,” he said. “I’m grateful to my teammates, the coaching staff, and everyone at Barcelona who believed in me and gave me the confidence to express myself on the pitch.”

At just 18 years and 168 days old, Yamal has already amassed 79 career goal contributions at club level.

According to Transfermarkt statistics, that tally surpasses the combined total recorded by global superstars Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé at the same age, underlining the scale of his early impact.

Earlier on the same day, Yamal’s rising profile was further boosted as he and teammate Pedri were named in the IFFHS Men’s World Team of 2025. The young winger also earned a place in the IFFHS U20 Youth Team, alongside fellow Barcelona defender Pau Cubarsí.
