Wike in Dubai for 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit, Mayors’ Forum

T The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, arrived in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Monday to participate in the 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors’ Forum (2025 APCS).

Wike, who departed Abuja on Sunday, touched down in Dubai at about 4 a.m. and was received by Nigeria’s Consul General in Dubai, Ambassador Zayyanu Ibrahim, alongside senior officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).

Among those on hand were the Acting Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Engr. Richard Yunana Dauda; Senior Special Assistant to the Minister on Legal and Multilateral Cooperation, Benedict Daudu; Director of Development and Control, Mukhtar Galadima; Director of Engineering Services, Engr. Chuks Udeh; and Director of Protocol, Sani Musa Daura.

Wike is scheduled to lead a panel discussion on Tuesday, where he will speak on developments in the FCT and engage with mayors of other capital cities.

Organisers of the summit describe the 2025 APCS as a platform that connects cities and businesses with long-term trade and investment prospects across Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, South Asia and other regions.

The forum, initiated by the Brisbane City Council in Australia, brings together mayors, city leaders, industry executives and young professionals from across the globe.
