Tinubu Welcomes Governor Mbah to APC, Declares Him Leader of Enugu Chapter

I It was a historic day in Enugu on Tuesday as the All Progressives Congress (APC) formally welcomed Governor Peter Mbah into its fold, marking a major political realignment in the South-East.

The event, which took place at Okpara Square, was attended by top party leaders, governors, and stakeholders from across the country. Vice President Kashim Shettima, GCON, represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, at the ceremony and officially declared Governor Mbah as the leader of the APC in Enugu State.

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, who also serves as Chairman of the Southern Governors’ Forum, expressed delight at witnessing what he described as “a moment that strengthens our unity and broadens the APC’s presence in the South-East.”

In his remarks shared on his official page, Governor Abiodun commended President Tinubu’s inclusive leadership for “building bridges across regions and fostering greater national integration.”

According to him, Governor Mbah’s defection to the APC “is a testament to the growing confidence in the Renewed Hope Agenda,” noting that the move underscores the party’s expanding influence nationwide.

He added that the Southern Governors remain committed to deepening collaboration and working collectively towards “a stronger, united, and more prosperous Nigeria.”
