Rabiu Pledges $500,000 for Super Eagles

N Nigerian industrialist and philanthropist, Alhaji Abdul Samad Rabiu, has announced substantial financial incentives for the Super Eagles as they prepare for their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) semi-final clash.

Rabiu pledged a reward of $500,000 to the players if they secure victory in the semi-final, with an additional $50,000 for every goal scored during the match.

The businessman further disclosed that the incentives would increase significantly should the team progress to lift the trophy.

“If the team goes on to win the final, the players will receive $1 million, in addition to $100,000 for every goal scored in the final,” Rabiu said.

The announcement has been widely welcomed by football stakeholders and fans, who view it as a major morale booster for the Super Eagles at a crucial stage of the tournament.

Observers say the pledge underscores the growing role of private-sector support in Nigerian sports, particularly as the national team pushes for continental glory at the AFCON.
