JAMB to Offer Free UTME Forms to Persons with Disabilities

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that persons with disabilities (PWDs) will receive free application documents for the 2026/2027 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The announcement was made in JAMB’s weekly bulletin, published on Monday on the board’s official website. As in previous years, the initiative will be facilitated through the JAMB Equal Opportunity Group for eligible candidates with disabilities intending to sit the examination.
JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, disclosed this during a meeting with stakeholders at the Board’s national headquarters in Abuja. He emphasized the board’s commitment to supporting the welfare of persons with disabilities through the scheme.
“To support persons living with disabilities, JAMB will issue free application documents to all categories of persons living with disabilities,” Oloyede said. “For candidates to enjoy this, such candidates must possess five O’Level credits at not more than two sittings. In addition, audiobooks will be provided to all blind candidates.”
He explained that the audiobooks are digital adaptations of conventional printed materials and will be made available in popular audio formats such as MP3, WMV, and WMA to ensure compatibility with devices capable of playing audio files.
Oloyede further highlighted that beneficiaries of the initiative include, but are not limited to, persons living with Down syndrome, autism, dyslexia, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
“This initiative underscores our resolve to remove barriers to access and ensure that candidates with disabilities are given equal opportunities to pursue their academic aspirations,” he added.
