FG, States, LGs Share N1.818 Trillion as June 2025 Allocation

T The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC), at its July 2025 meeting held in Abuja and chaired by the Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, has announced the disbursement of N1.818 trillion to the three tiers of government as Federation Allocation for the month of June 2025.

The allocation came from a gross total revenue inflow of N4.232 trillion, comprising Gross Statutory Revenue, Value Added Tax (VAT), Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL), Exchange Difference, and a N100 billion augmentation from Non-Mineral Revenue.

Out of the N1.818 trillion distributed, the Federal Government received N645.383 billion, State Governments received N607.417 billion, and Local Government Councils were allocated N444.853 billion. Additionally, oil-producing states received N120.759 billion as 13% Derivation Revenue.

A total of N162.786 billion was earmarked for cost of revenue collection, while a significant N2.251 trillion was set aside for Transfers, Interventions, and Refunds.

According to the communique issued by FAAC at the end of the meeting, the gross revenue generated from VAT in June stood at N678.165 billion, reflecting a decrease of N64.655 billion when compared to the N742.820 billion distributed in May. From this amount, N27.127 billion was deducted for the cost of collection and N19.531 billion allocated to Transfers, Interventions, and Refunds. The remaining N631.507 billion was shared among the three tiers of government, with the Federal Government receiving N94.726 billion, States N315.754 billion, and Local Governments N221.027 billion.

The Gross Statutory Revenue received in June amounted to N3.385 trillion, an increase of N1.390 trillion from the N2.094 trillion recorded in May. From this, N134.444 billion was used for collection cost and N2.231 trillion allocated to Transfers, Interventions, and Refunds. The balance of N1.018 trillion was shared with the Federal Government getting N474.455 billion, States N240.650 billion, Local Governments N185.531 billion, and oil-producing states N118.256 billion as Derivation Revenue.

Furthermore, the sum of N30.380 billion from Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) was distributed to the three tiers of government: the Federal Government received N4.375 billion, States N14.582 billion, and Local Governments N10.208 billion, while N1.215 billion was allocated for the cost of collection.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Wale Edun extended his condolences to FAAC members and Nigerians at large—both at home and in the diaspora—on the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari. He described the former president’s death as a profound loss to the nation and commended his service and contributions to national development.

The Minister also lauded the dedication of FAAC members in aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic policy objectives aimed at revitalizing and repositioning the Nigerian economy for sustainable growth.
