Ethiopian Election Delegation Visits INEC Voter Registration Centres in FCT

T The Administrative Secretary of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mrs. Bimbo Oladunjoye, on behalf of the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Malam Aminu Idris, on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, received a delegation from the National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) and the Coalition of Ethiopian Civil Society Organisations for Elections (CECOE).

The delegation, currently on a working visit to Nigeria, toured selected Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) centres in the Abuja Municipal Area Council to observe and learn from INEC’s voter registration processes.

During the visit, the Ethiopian delegation was taken through various stages of the registration exercise and engaged with INEC officials to better understand operational procedures, innovations, and best practices.

According to INEC, the visit forms part of broader efforts to promote continental cooperation aimed at strengthening democratic values, enhancing electoral management, and building resilient institutions that safeguard democracy across Africa.

In attendance at the visit were Prof. Mohammed Kuna, Special Adviser to the former INEC Chairman; Mrs. Victoria Eta-Messi, Director of Voter Education and Publicity, INEC Headquarters; Deputy Directors; and other officials from the Commission’s Headquarters and the FCT office.
