Over 6,000 constituents of Mushin 1 Federal Constituency have benefited from a palliative foodstuff distribution exercise facilitated by the Member representing the constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Adeyemi Alli.

The exercise, held on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Harmony House, 16 Macaulay Street, Olorunsogo, Mushin, Lagos State, was organised as part of efforts to provide immediate relief to residents and support households facing economic pressures.

Beneficiaries were drawn from the eight federally recognised political wards that make up Mushin 1 Federal Constituency, with residents from various communities turning out for the distribution.

Speaking during the exercise, Alli described the welfare of his constituents as a major priority, stressing the importance of remaining connected to the people and responding to their immediate needs.

“My constituency remains my priority, and I will continue to support our people in ways that respond to their immediate needs. This palliative distribution is part of my commitment to ensuring that our constituents know that their welfare matters,” Alli said.

He said the intervention was particularly important at a time when many households were dealing with rising economic pressures and challenges in meeting basic needs.

“These are challenging times for many families, and as representatives of the people, we must continue to stand with them. The distribution of these food items is a practical intervention aimed at providing some relief to households across the eight wards of Mushin 1 Federal Constituency,” he said.

Alli further explained that the constituency-wide nature of the exercise was deliberate, noting that residents across the eight wards should be included in programmes designed to provide support.

“Our constituency is made up of eight federally recognised political wards, and our interventions must reflect that diversity. We will continue to engage with our people across all the wards and ensure that constituency support reaches those who need it,” he added.

The exercise attracted prominent political leaders, elected officials, party stakeholders, community leaders and other representatives from across the constituency.

Among those in attendance were the Executive Chairman of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon. Dr. Seyi Jakande; former Lagos State APC Deputy Woman Leader, Hon. Kehinde Ajinni Babalola; and the APC Chairman in Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon. Ismail Babatunde Kazeem, popularly known as Tunkaz.

Also present were councillors, supervisors, party leaders, community leaders and other stakeholders.

The centralised distribution at Harmony House provided an avenue for beneficiaries from different communities within Mushin 1 to participate in the exercise and receive the food items allocated to them.

The initiative also highlighted the role of constituency-level interventions in providing short-term assistance to residents, particularly households experiencing pressure from the rising cost of living.

For the beneficiaries, the foodstuff distribution offered practical support toward meeting some of their immediate household needs.

The exercise concluded with the distribution of the palliative foodstuffs to beneficiaries drawn from the eight political wards, further reinforcing the constituency-wide scope of the intervention.

The programme represents another welfare-focused constituency initiative facilitated by Hon. Adeyemi Alli, aimed at providing immediate food assistance to over 6,000 residents across Mushin 1 Federal Constituency.
