Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, have recorded significant operational successes in ongoing counter-terrorism efforts against Boko Haram and ISWAP elements across the region. The operations, conducted between March 31 and April 4, 2026, led to the neutralisation of several insurgents, arrests of suspects, and disruption of terrorist logistics networks.
According to a statement issued by the Media Information Officer of Operation HADIN KAI, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, troops under Sector 2 in Geidam, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), engaged terrorist logistics suppliers following credible intelligence. “Following a fierce encounter, three terrorists were neutralised while a logistics-laden vehicle was disabled. Recovered items included food supplies, mobile phones and other materials intended for terrorist camps,” he said.
The statement further disclosed that troops successfully ambushed insurgents attempting to plant Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) along the Konduga–Kawuri axis. “The troops engaged the insurgents with decisive firepower, triggering an explosion that neutralised two terrorists, while weapons and ammunition were recovered,” Uba added. He also noted that troops discovered and safely detonated another IED along the Ngoshe–Pulka road, averting potential casualties.
In Adamawa State, troops under Sector 4, working with local hunters in Mubi North Local Government Area, arrested three Boko Haram/ISWAP members. Uba revealed that one of the suspects had previously gathered intelligence on troop movements and participated in recent attacks. “All arrested persons are currently in custody for further investigation,” he stated.
Similarly, troops operating in Mainok market apprehended three terrorist logistics suppliers and recovered livestock, mobile phones, and cash. In Yobe State, security forces intercepted a vehicle conveying suspected terrorists, two of whom had gunshot wounds linked to earlier encounters with troops. Additional arrests included informants, collaborators, and a foreign national apprehended at a checkpoint under suspicious circumstances.
Commending the troops, the military high command praised their resilience and professionalism. “Troops have maintained aggressive operations, denying criminal elements freedom of action. Their morale and combat efficiency remain high,” Uba said, urging them to sustain the momentum in safeguarding the North-East region.
