President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to tackling insecurity across Nigeria, describing the challenge as a major obstacle to national development, progress, and prosperity.
Speaking at a gathering attended by supporters and stakeholders, the President expressed gratitude for the strong turnout despite the short notice, noting that it reflected unity, sincerity, and shared commitment among Nigerians.
“We thank God that we all started together and we end being together. May God Almighty continue to enrich us and put our nation on the right path,” Tinubu said.
The President acknowledged the scale of Nigeria’s security challenges, stressing that the next phase of the country’s collective struggle is focused squarely on defeating insecurity.
“Insecurity is an enemy of development, progress, and prosperity. That’s what insecurity is all about,” he stated.
Tinubu assured Nigerians that his government is making deliberate efforts to strengthen security networks and build the necessary collaborations to overcome the menace.
“I can commit myself to further strengthen my contacts and the network that is necessary. One of the major discussions in the UK is equipment and support,” he added.
Highlighting ongoing international engagements, the President revealed that he recently held extensive talks with Emmanuel Macron on security cooperation, signaling renewed efforts to boost Nigeria’s defense capacity through global partnerships.
“And I can report to you, yesterday again, I had a lengthy discussion with Emmanuel Macron. There is collaboration,” Tinubu disclosed.
The president expressed optimism that with collective effort and sustained partnerships, Nigeria would overcome insecurity and achieve lasting peace and stability.
