Mystery as Mother Claims Boarding School Declared Son Dead Two Years Ago

A A Nigerian mother has raised alarm after claiming that a boarding school informed her that her son had died two years ago, despite her insistence that the boy had been returning home during holidays within the same period.

The woman, whose identity was not disclosed, narrated the puzzling incident in a viral post circulating on social media.

According to her, she had enrolled her son, identified as Obadiah, in a boarding school for three years. However, during a visit to the school, she was allegedly told that her son had died two years earlier and was no longer a student of the institution.

The revelation, she said, left her shocked and confused because the boy had been visiting home during holidays and appeared healthy.

“I sent my son to boarding school for three years, only for me to go to his school today and they told me he died two years ago and is no longer a student there,” she said.

The woman said she questioned the teachers about why the school never informed her if her son had truly died.

“I asked them, if he was really dead, why didn’t they tell me? Which school would not inform parents or guardians if their child passed away?” she said.

According to her, she left the school premises feeling frightened and angry. She immediately called her son, who answered the call.

“I called my son Obadiah and he picked the call. I felt relieved. But when I told him that his school said he was dead, he suddenly cut the call,” she said.

She claimed repeated attempts to reach him afterward were unsuccessful. When she later tried to contact him through messaging platforms, she discovered she had been blocked.

“His profile picture disappeared and my message showed only one tick. He had blocked me everywhere. I kept asking myself why my own son would block me,” she lamented.

The situation became more emotional at home when Obadiah’s younger brother reportedly questioned whether his elder brother was truly dead despite seeing him during the previous holiday.

“Mummy, if Brother Obadiah is dead, who was the person sleeping in our room last December? We played games together and ate from the same plate,” the younger sibling reportedly asked.

Disturbed by the development, the mother said she returned to the school and demanded proof of her son’s alleged death.

“If you say my son is dead, show me his grave. Let me see where he was buried so I can believe you,” she recounted telling the school authorities.

According to her, a teacher later explained that the school received a report that Obadiah was involved in a car accident during a mid-term break two years earlier.

“They told me the car he entered had a terrible accident and fell into a deep river. They said no bodies were recovered and the vehicle was never found,” she said.

The mother, however, rejected the explanation and produced what she said was her son’s most recent school result.

But the school principal allegedly told her that the document did not belong to the institution.

“This is not our school’s result sheet. The logo is different and the teacher whose signature is on it left the school five years ago,” the principal reportedly said.

The conflicting accounts have left the woman deeply confused and searching for answers.

“My son died but they cannot find his body? Yet he has been coming home every holiday. And now he blocked me when I tried to tell him what the school said,” she said.

The incident has sparked reactions online, with many social media users expressing disbelief and calling for proper investigation into the claims.
