Etsu Nupe Endorses Oyo APC Guber Hopeful Saheed Oladele

T The Etsu of Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, has described Oyo State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, Chief Saheed Oladele, as a brilliant and forthright young man whose leadership qualities are needed to move Nigeria forward.

Alhaji Abubakar made the remarks while receiving Chief Oladele, the Baameko of Ibadanland, during a courtesy visit. The monarch, known as one of the most influential traditional rulers in Nigeria, commended Oladele’s contributions to education and praised his determination to contest the 2027 Oyo governorship election.

He said, “This is an auspicious time for a vibrant young man like him to plunge into politics and arrest the rot in the country’s political space.”

The Etsu pledged his support for Oladele’s political ambition and offered prayers for his success, noting that his kind of leadership was sorely needed in Nigeria.

In his response, Chief Oladele expressed deep appreciation for the Etsu’s blessings and encouragement.

“Our meeting was far more than courtesy, it was a moment of intellectual uplift that I will carry with me as I journey forward in service,” he stated.

He further lauded the Etsu’s style of leadership, describing it as “anchored in faith, humility and wisdom, the kind that leaves a lasting legacy.”
