Education District II Boss Hails APROCON, Urges Sustained Efforts

T The Supervising Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary (TG/PS) of Education District II, Mr. Olusegun Osinaike, has commended the Association of Professional Counsellors of Nigeria (APROCON) for its dedication and contributions to the growth of education in Lagos State.

Osinaike gave the commendation during a courtesy visit by APROCON members to his office, noting that professional associations have played a vital role in advancing Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES Plus Agenda.

He praised APROCON for its impact on the holistic development of students and staff across the district, describing the association as a strong partner in educational progress.

“APROCON has been doing wonderfully well in this regard. With both students and staff across the District, we have seen the positive impact of your association, and I am truly appreciative of your good work,” he said.

The TG/PS encouraged the association to sustain its efforts in strengthening the education sector, highlighting that Education District II recorded a remarkable improvement in the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). He attributed the feat to the resilience and collective commitment of staff, students, and stakeholders, urging all to remain steadfast in the pursuit of excellence.

Earlier, the Head of the Guidance and Counselling Unit, Princess Bolanle Adeniyi, welcomed the TG/PS and reaffirmed APROCON’s commitment to collaborating with the district in driving educational advancement. She also reiterated the association’s dedication to advocacy against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), noting that preparations for the annual SGBV campaign were already underway.

According to her, the Guidance and Counselling Unit has always been at the forefront of the campaign and will continue to champion the cause with the TG/PS’s support. She also prayed for the success of his tenure and the well-being of all stakeholders.

The visit was marked by a spirit of unity, collaboration, and a shared vision for the continued progress of Education District II.
