CUSTECH Honours Energy Commission DG Mustapha Abdullahi with Doctorate Degree

T The Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, has awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Engineering (D.Eng., Honoris Causa) to the Director-General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN), Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, during its maiden Joint Convocation Ceremony.

The degree was formally presented by the Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo, in a ceremony attended by former Governor Yahaya Bello, the University Chancellor, and the Vice-Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu. The honour recognises Dr. Abdullahi’s contributions to Nigeria’s energy development, especially his leadership in advancing renewable energy policy and sustainable energy solutions.

Dr. Abdullahi, who attended the event alongside directors and senior officials of the Energy Commission of Nigeria, expressed deep appreciation to CUSTECH for the recognition. He reaffirmed his commitment to promoting technological innovation, expanding renewable energy access, and building strategic partnerships to support Nigeria’s sustainable energy transition.

The award further highlights Dr. Abdullahi’s increasing national relevance, with observers noting his dynamic leadership style and growing influence within the Renewed Hope Administration.
