Buhari Might Have Died Using Nigerian Hospitals — Femi Adesina

F Former presidential spokesman, Mr. Femi Adesina, has revealed that the late President Muhammadu Buhari might not have survived his health challenges if he had relied solely on Nigerian hospitals.

Speaking during an interview with Channels Television, Adesina defended Buhari’s decision to receive medical care abroad, particularly in London, even during his presidency.

According to him, the decision was not merely a show of preference but one rooted in survival and necessity.

“Like I said, he always had his medicals in London, even when he was not in office. So it was not about the time he was president alone. He had always had it in London,” Adesina stated.

He stressed that remaining alive was paramount for Buhari to make meaningful contributions to the country’s development. “You have to be alive first to get certain things changed or corrected in your country. If he had said, ‘I will do my medicals in Nigeria just as a show of something,’ he could have long been dead because there might not be the expertise needed in the country,” he added.

Adesina also criticized critics who condemned the late president for frequently traveling abroad for healthcare. “So those who glibly talk of going abroad, going abroad, they don't know that a man needs to be alive first before he can effect a change,” he concluded.

Buhari’s repeated medical trips abroad during his tenure had drawn widespread scrutiny, with many Nigerians demanding improved healthcare facilities within the country.
