2027: Atiku’s Son Plans 2 Million-Man March, 10 Luxury Buses for Tinubu’s Re-election
A son of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, Abba Abubakar, has announced plans to organise a two-million-man mobilisation march across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones in support of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
Abba, founder and chairman of the Haske Bola Tinubu Organisation (HBTO), unveiled the mobilisation strategy on Friday, October 30, at the national secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja.
He said the proposed nationwide exercise would begin in Abuja before extending to other parts of the country as the organisation establishes its structures across the geopolitical zones.
According to him, the organisation’s immediate mobilisation efforts would focus on the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), where it intends to work with the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, to secure support for Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Abba also disclosed that HBTO was preparing for a major political mobilisation exercise in Rivers State during the first week of November.
He said the organisation was aligning its activities with Wike’s political objective of securing support for Tinubu in both the FCT and Rivers State.
Beyond political mobilisation, Abba announced plans to introduce a transportation support initiative involving the initial provision of 10 luxury buses.
He explained that the buses would initially operate in the FCT before the programme is extended to other parts of the country.
According to him, the initiative is intended to ease transportation difficulties and reduce commuting costs for Nigerians.
Abba said the organisation’s activities would go beyond political gatherings, adding that it was working towards establishing a coordinated grassroots network capable of mobilising support, engaging communities and communicating the policies of the Tinubu administration.
He also maintained that his decision to support the President was based on personal political convictions rather than family considerations.
“Political conviction is a matter of personal judgement, conscience and the freedom of every individual to make independent choices,” he said.
Addressing concerns surrounding his political position, he maintained that individuals should be free to support political leaders and platforms they believe represent their aspirations.
Abba acknowledged that the economic reforms introduced by the Tinubu administration had brought difficult adjustments for Nigerians but argued that their potential long-term benefits should also be recognised.
He cited interventions in different sectors, including the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), road infrastructure investments and increased allocations to state governments through the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC), as some of the initiatives informing his support for the administration.
The Haske Bola Tinubu Organisation was established following Abba’s political realignment from the opposition PDP to the ruling APC.
In January 2026, he announced his defection to the APC and declared his intention to work towards Tinubu’s re-election. His former political platform, the Haske Atiku Organisation, was subsequently renamed the Haske Bola Tinubu Organisation.
His latest announcement adds another political mobilisation group to the activities surrounding preparations for the 2027 general election.
The proposed two-million-man march and transportation initiative are yet to be independently verified as implemented.
