APC Expands Tinubu’s 2027 Campaign Council With Fresh Appointments
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expanded President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 Presidential Campaign Council with fresh appointments across several directorates, sectoral groups and mobilisation structures ahead of the next general election.
The party announced the supplementary list on Wednesday in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.
The additional appointments cover areas including aviation, manufacturing, artisan mobilisation, civil society, parliamentary mobilisation, security and intelligence, entertainment and stakeholder engagement.
Among those named in the new appointments are former Peoples Democratic Party National Publicity Secretary Olisa Metuh, former Edo State governorship candidate Osagie Ize-Iyamu and actress Foluke Daramola.
The party said the expansion was intended to strengthen coordination among the various components of the campaign council as preparations for the 2027 presidential election continue.
New appointments across campaign directorates
The supplementary list includes Olorogun Festus Keyamo, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and Minister of Aviation, in the Directorate of Air Transport Mobilisation.
Olubunmi Kuku and Farouk Ahmed Umar were also named to positions within the directorate.
In the Contact and Mobilisation Directorate, former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello was listed as Deputy Director I, while Abdullahi Abdulkareem Tsafe was named Deputy Director II.
The Directorate of Manufacturing and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises also received additional appointments, including Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba.
The party further expanded its artisan mobilisation structure, naming Sanusi Garba Rikiji as director and Chukuma Umeoji as a deputy director.
Other appointments cover civil society mobilisation, parliamentary engagement, security and intelligence, entertainment and advisory roles.
The additions form part of the APC’s effort to broaden the structure responsible for coordinating its presidential campaign activities nationwide.
Existing leadership remains in place
The supplementary appointments leave the campaign council’s principal leadership structure unchanged, according to the published reports.
Tinubu remains chairman, with Vice-President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda serving as first and second vice-chairmen, respectively.
Former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari remains director-general, while Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma serves as secretary.
The council was inaugurated on October 14 at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, following earlier announcements of its membership and leadership.
The APC had previously revised the council’s composition to include political figures from outside its core membership, including FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo in campaign coordination roles.
Preparations ahead of the 2027 election
The latest appointments come as political parties organise their structures ahead of the 2027 general election.
Tinubu publicly launched his re-election campaign at a rally in Kaduna State on October 24, 2026, with the presidential contest expected to take place in January 2027.
The expanded council provides the APC with additional personnel across mobilisation, policy, professional and sectoral structures as it prepares for the election.
The party has reiterated its commitment to coordination among the council’s various components.
The effectiveness of the expanded structure, however, will depend on how its members carry out their assigned responsibilities as the campaign progresses.
