Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has joined TikTok, promising to share authentic information, updates and exclusive content about his daily life as political activities gather momentum ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.

The former Kano State governor announced his presence on the social media platform in a post on his X account on Wednesday, October 28, encouraging Nigerians to follow his TikTok account.

“I am on TikTok! I encourage you all to follow me there for authentic information, the latest updates, and exclusive contents directly related to my daily life,” he said.

He added: “Nigeria will be OK.”

In a video accompanying the announcement, Kwankwaso welcomed TikTok users and encouraged them to follow his account, activate notifications and share his videos.

His entry into the platform provides another channel through which he can communicate directly with supporters and other Nigerians, particularly users who consume short-form video content.

Political activities ahead of 2027

Kwankwaso’s move comes as political parties and aspirants prepare for the 2027 general elections.

The former governor is associated with the Kwankwasiyya political movement, which has a significant support base in Kano State and other parts of northern Nigeria.

He has also been involved in discussions and political realignments ahead of the next presidential election.

His use of TikTok could provide an additional avenue for sharing political messages and personal updates. However, the announcement did not specify how frequently he would post or whether the account would be used primarily for campaign communication or broader personal content.

Kwankwaso’s message ended with an expression of optimism about Nigeria’s future: “Nigeria will be OK.”
