Reports concerning the condition of Nigerian gospel singer Toluwanisings circulated on social media on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, following a post attributed to lawyer Pelumi Olajengbesi and a subsequent appeal by gospel entertainer Woli Agba urging the public not to reach conclusions.

Several Nigerian news organisations reported that Olajengbesi, convener of the Coalition of Public Interest Lawyers and Advocates (COPA), shared a photograph of the singer on social media alongside a message expressing concern over the deaths of young Nigerians.

According to reports quoting the post, Olajengbesi wrote, “My God! What a life! No, Lord! We plead for Your mercy upon Toluwanisings.”

He also reportedly expressed concern over the deaths of young people, adding that such losses were troubling.

The post was interpreted by several publications as an announcement of the singer’s death. However, the available evidence reviewed for this report did not establish an independent confirmation from Toluwanisings’ family, management or official representatives.

Woli Agba subsequently urged people not to conclude that the singer had died.

In a message reported by Nigerian entertainment news outlets, the comedian wrote, “Please hold on. Please don’t conclude. We are trusting God. Please.”

His message prompted further uncertainty about the singer’s condition, with reports indicating that prayers were continuing amid the circulating claims.

As the reports spread, some publications presented the singer’s death as confirmed, while others described it as a reported development. The circumstances surrounding the claims, including what happened to the singer and his condition at the time, remained unclear from the evidence available for this report.

Toluwanisings, whose name has also been reported as Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, is known for his gospel music and worship ministrations. In July 2026, The Guardian Nigeria reported that the singer and members of his crew survived a road accident involving their vehicle and a trailer while returning from a gospel ministration.

However, the earlier accident does not establish any connection with the reports circulating on Wednesday.
