Lagos State Deputy Governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2027 election, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, has unveiled the Euphoria360 Hub in Oregun, Ikeja, with a renewed pledge to strengthen the creative economy and equip young Lagosians with skills for the future.

Hamzat, who spoke at the official commissioning of the state-of-the-art movie and entertainment facility, said the creative sector offered enormous opportunities for job creation, entrepreneurship, innovation and economic growth.

The APC candidate was accompanied by his running mate, Princess Damilola Sonayon-James, and members of the Lagos State APC Campaign Council led by its Director-General, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro.

The ceremony brought together government officials, entertainers, filmmakers, entrepreneurs, youth groups, media executives and other stakeholders in the creative industry.

The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Euphoria360 Hub, Mr. Femi Adebayo Salami, said the facility was conceived as a one-stop centre for film production, content creation, professional training, talent development, networking and entertainment business incubation.

Salami also announced a skills acquisition programme designed to train 250 young Lagosians in various areas of movie production and entertainment.

He said the initiative would provide participants with practical skills needed to improve their employability, develop entrepreneurial capacity and participate actively in the creative economy.

Hamzat commended the founder for investing in the sector, describing the hub as an example of the kind of private-sector initiative needed to drive economic diversification and youth empowerment in Lagos.

He also acknowledged the contributions of Salami’s parents, veteran Nollywood actor Chief Adebayo Salami, popularly known as Oga Bello, and Alhaja Ejide Salami, to the development and international visibility of Nigeria’s entertainment industry.

The deputy governor noted that the global creative economy was generating enormous wealth, urging Nigerian and African practitioners to position the continent to secure a greater share of the industry’s economic value.

He called on stakeholders to embrace technology, improve local content, develop innovative business models and establish partnerships that could create more opportunities for young people.

Hamzat disclosed that the Lagos State Government was working towards training one million youth in high-demand skills, including technology, filmmaking, acting, cybersecurity, robotics, photography, animation, digital content creation and artificial intelligence.

According to him, the programme is intended to prepare young Lagosians for emerging opportunities while connecting them to employment, entrepreneurship and investment.

He also disclosed that Lagos was strengthening partnerships with international institutions, including the State of California in the United States, to promote technology exchange, innovation and creative-sector development.

Hamzat further revealed that the state government was investing in modern cinema facilities and creative spaces in Igando, Ikorodu, Badagry and other parts of Lagos to decentralise access to entertainment infrastructure.

He urged creative entrepreneurs to work with government by presenting innovative proposals capable of attracting investment, developing talent and creating sustainable employment.

The event was attended by the Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Special Advisers to the state government, the Special Adviser on Communications to the President, Hon. Sunday Dare, members of the APC Lagos State Campaign Council and prominent personalities in the entertainment industry.
