T The Chief Executive Officer of Agidigbo FM and popular radio presenter, Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat, has declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State on the platform of the Accord Party.

Hamzat made the declaration on Saturday in Ibadan, where supporters, party members and political associates converged to witness his formal entry into the governorship race.

Speaking at the event, the broadcaster said his decision to seek elective office was motivated by a desire to serve the people of Oyo State and contribute to the overall development of the state.

He noted that his ambition was also informed by sustained calls from residents who believe his grassroots influence, media experience and humanitarian engagements could translate into effective leadership.

Hamzat, who is widely known for his outspoken radio programmes and philanthropic interventions through Agidigbo FM, said he chose the Accord Party after what he described as careful consideration, adding that the party aligns with his vision for inclusive governance and people-oriented leadership.

He further announced that he would no longer mobilise support for other political aspirants, stressing that his focus is now on pursuing his governorship ambition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
