Police seek help to locate owner of abandoned Toyota Prado

T The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has launched an appeal to locate the owner of an abandoned Toyota Prado Land Cruiser discovered on December 31, 2024, in Abuja.

Authorities have urged individuals with information about the vehicle or its ownership to contact the police headquarters for identification and possible recovery.

According to a statement from the FCT Police Command spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, the unregistered vehicle was spotted by officers from the Durumi Division during a routine patrol.

“At about 11:30 am, operatives discovered the vehicle along David Ejoor Street, opposite Adisa Estate, Apo-Gudu. Upon inspection, the vehicle was found without a registration number,” Adeh stated.

A search of the vehicle revealed several items, including a silver-coloured eagle insignia, video/audio cables and a car stereo remote.

Further investigations showed that identifying details such as the chassis and engine numbers had been tampered with.

“The sticker displaying the engine and chassis numbers near the driver’s door was removed, and the windscreen appeared to have been recently replaced. The vehicle has since been towed to the FCT Police Command Headquarters in Garki II,” Adeh added.

Adeh emphasized that anyone with a missing Toyota Prado matching the description should visit the police headquarters with proof of ownership.

“We urge members of the public with information or claims regarding this vehicle to come forward,” she concluded.

The FCT Police Command remains committed to ensuring the security of lives and property while appealing for public cooperation in solving cases such as this.
