Police Arrest Two Over Murder of Chinese National in Ogun

T The Nigeria Police Force has cracked the murder case of a Chinese national, Mr. Chen Wang, an employee of WH Great Resource Ltd. in Ogere, Ogun State, with the arrest of two suspects after a months-long intelligence-led operation.

Mr. Wang was found dead on January 12, 2025, with fatal stab wounds to the chest inside his office. The Ogun State Police Command was alerted through a distress call, prompting the immediate launch of an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the brutal killing.

According to a press release issued by Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, activated the Force’s Technical Intelligence Unit (TIU) to support the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran, in unraveling the case.

Investigators discovered that two factory workers, suspected to be romantically involved, exploited reduced staffing during an overtime shift to carry out the crime.

The suspects reportedly disabled the company's security system, gained unauthorized access to the victim’s office, and fatally attacked him. They then stole the keys to his residence, burglarized the property, and fled the state with cash.

Following extensive surveillance and the deployment of digital forensics, biometric analysis, and human intelligence, operatives from the Force Headquarters in Abuja, working with Ogun SCID detectives, arrested the suspects on July 14, 2025, in Jos, Plateau State. The suspects were identified as Yunusa Abdullahi, 25, from Borno State, and Peace Keno Danlami, 20, from Taraba State. They had assumed false identities in their hideout.

Commending the operation, the Inspector General praised the Ogun Police Command, the Technical Intelligence Unit, and all officers involved for their professionalism and dedication to justice. He emphasized the Nigeria Police Force’s unwavering commitment to the safety and protection of all residents, both citizens and foreigners.

The suspects are currently in custody and will be formally charged upon completion of the ongoing investigation.
