Kwara State boosts food security, distributes agricultural inputs to farmers

T The Kwara State Government has successfully distributed agricultural inputs to farmers in the Oke-Ero Local Government Area.

This initiative, which is part of a broader strategy to empower smallholder farmers, comes after a thorough profiling and evaluation process to identify those in need of support.

Governor AbdulRazaq initially flagged off the third batch of this distribution program several months ago, aimed at reaching a total of 10,000 farmers across all 16 local government areas in the state.

The latest distribution includes improved seeds, essential chemicals, and fertilizers, designed to increase crop yields and improve the livelihoods of local farmers.

The initiative underscores the government's commitment to bolstering agricultural productivity and ensuring sustainable food production in Kwara State. By providing farmers with the necessary tools and resources, the state aims to foster a thriving agricultural sector that can withstand the challenges posed by climate change and economic fluctuations.

Local farmers have expressed gratitude for the support, which they believe will significantly enhance their farming practices and contribute to the overall growth of the agricultural economy in the region.
