Kwara Govt Urges Vigilance, Restricts Movement as Security Forces Raid Kidnappers’ Hideouts

The Kwara State Government has advised residents, particularly those in Ekiti, Ifelodun, Isin, Oke Ero, and Irepodun local government areas, to remain vigilant and limit outdoor activities amid intensified security operations against kidnappers in border communities.
The advisory follows ongoing raids by joint security forces on suspected hideouts in parts of Kwara and neighbouring Kogi State.
“We urge people to be very vigilant and limit their movements to only very necessary routines. That is to avoid being caught unawares as the kidnappers are fleeing their hideouts. We do not want law-abiding citizens to be affected,” Commissioner for Communications, Bolanle Olukoju, said in a statement on Wednesday.
Olukoju acknowledged the temporary inconvenience the restriction might cause but stressed that it was necessary for public safety.
She commended the efforts of the security agencies, urging them to sustain the offensive until all criminal elements are flushed out of the forests.
