FG Declares Friday Public Holiday

T The Federal Government has declared Friday, September 5, 2025, a public holiday to mark Eid-ul-Mawlid, the celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

This was contained in a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, on behalf of the Minister of Interior.

The statement congratulated Muslims in Nigeria and across the world, urging them to reflect on the noble virtues of the Prophet, including peace, love, humility, tolerance, and compassion.

It further called on Nigerians of all faiths to use the occasion to pray for peace, security, and stability in the country, while supporting the government’s ongoing efforts towards unity and development.

The Minister of Interior wished the Muslim faithful a joyous and peaceful Eid-ul-Mawlid celebration.
