
EFCC Nabs 55 Suspected Internet Fraudsters, Recovers Pistols and Exotic Cars

Operatives of the Ibadan Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 55 suspects in connection with internet fraud during a sting operation in Ogun State.
According to a statement by the Commission, the coordinated raid took place on Saturday, July 6, at K Hotel, located in the Itori area of Ewekoro Local Government Area. The operation followed “credible and actionable intelligence” linking the suspects to alleged cybercrime activities.
During the operation, EFCC officials recovered a trove of items including six exotic cars, 89 unclaimed mobile phones, several laptops, two locally made pistols, a motorcycle, and multiple incriminating documents.
The commission noted that all 55 suspects have provided useful information to investigators. It also affirmed that they will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
Photos from the scene showed the suspects lined up as operatives secured the premises and documented the seized items.
The EFCC reiterated its commitment to ridding the country of cybercrime and other forms of economic and financial offences.
