P President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the removal of Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and appointed Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, as the new head of the Nigeria Police Force.

Until his elevation, AIG Disu led the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Ikoyi, Lagos. A senior police source told reporters, “Disu brings extensive experience spanning operations, intelligence, investigations, and strategic command. He is expected to provide strong leadership and restore public confidence in the Force.”

Disu, a native of Lagos State, has over three decades of policing experience. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Education from Lagos State University, Master’s degrees in Public Administration, Criminology, Security, and Legal Psychology, and an Advanced Diploma in Forensic Investigation.
