The All Progressives Congress (APC) has replaced Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, with former Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, as chairman of the party’s National Convention Central Coordination Committee ahead of its national convention scheduled for March 27–28, 2026.
The development was announced by the APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, in a statement on Friday, following consultations and approval by the party’s leadership.
Basiru explained that the leadership reshuffle was part of ongoing efforts to ensure a smooth and successful convention. He disclosed that Uzodimma, who was earlier named chairman of the committee, has now been reassigned as treasurer.
“The reconstitution of the National Convention Central Coordination Committee was approved after due consultations by the leadership of the party, in line with preparations for a successful national convention,” Basiru said.
According to the revised structure, former Senate President, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, has been appointed Vice Chairman I, while Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, will serve as Vice Chairman II.
The party also expanded the membership of the committee from 73 to 90 members to accommodate more stakeholders across the party.
Basiru noted that additional sub-committees would soon be constituted to handle specific responsibilities related to the convention.
“The expansion and adjustments are aimed at ensuring inclusiveness and efficiency, as various sub-committees will be set up to manage different aspects of the convention,” he added.
The APC national convention is expected to deliberate on critical party issues, including leadership positions and the party’s strategic direction ahead of future electoral contests.
