Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Monday presided over a marathon security council meeting, receiving extensive updates on ongoing efforts to strengthen public safety across the state.
The high-level meeting, held in Ilorin, brought together heads of all security agencies operating in the state, including the Police, Department of State Services, Army, Navy, Air Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Immigration Service, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), as well as officials from the Office of the National Security Adviser.
Top government functionaries — among them the Secretary to the State Government, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Special Adviser on Security, and Senior Special Assistant on Security — also participated in the session.
Briefing the Governor, the commanders detailed ongoing clearance operations, multiple arrests, prosecutions, and seizures of arms from hostile non-state actors.
Governor AbdulRazaq commended the operatives for their dedication and sacrifice, noting that their work is critical to sustaining peace and protecting lives and property.
He assured them of government’s continued support while urging members of the public to remain vigilant and provide actionable, timely intelligence to aid security efforts.
“Our security forces deserve all the support they get as they put in everything to ensure the people are safe,” the Governor said.
