The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abdulrahman Mohammed, has expressed confidence that the party will win all elective positions it contests in the 2027 general elections.

Mohammed made the declaration on Tuesday, November 3, during a meeting of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) with state chairmen in Abuja.

He commended the state chairmen for facilitating what he described as a successful nomination process for candidates contesting governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly elections across the 36 states.

Mohammed said the party’s leadership was committed to strengthening its structures and ensuring a successful outing in the forthcoming elections.

He said, “Our prayer is that, by the grace of Allah, our candidates will emerge victorious in all the positions they are contesting in 2027.”

The national chairman also reaffirmed the commitment of the NWC to following the party’s constitution and established procedures, including holding caucus and expanded National Executive Committee meetings.

He expressed appreciation to members of the NWC for their contributions to the party’s administration and preparation for the elections.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the PDP State Chairmen Forum and Imo State chairman, Austin Nwachukwu, pledged the support of state executives for the national leadership.

Nwachukwu said the state chairmen were prepared to work with the NWC and undertake responsibilities necessary to strengthen the party ahead of the elections.

However, he raised concerns over alleged intimidation, harassment and attacks against PDP members, supporters and candidates in some states.

He specifically cited Ebonyi State, alleging that some party members had been attacked and arrested.

Nwachukwu disclosed that the forum’s leadership had visited the state the previous week to address complaints from members.

He added that the forum was preparing to petition the Inspector-General of Police and other security agency heads over the alleged incidents.

The PDP chairman’s declaration comes as political parties intensify preparations for the 2027 general elections, with candidate selection and internal party organisation forming part of their early activities.
