The family of Nigerian gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, has confirmed his death after hours of uncertainty surrounding reports of his condition on social media.

The family announced his death in a statement shared on the singer’s social media accounts on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, saying he died in the early hours of the day.

The statement described him as a beloved husband, family member and gospel minister under the Toluwani Gospel Music Ministry (TOGOMM).

It also appealed to the public to remember his wife, family and loved ones in their prayers during the period of mourning.

The family did not disclose the circumstances surrounding his death but said details of the funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.

Before the announcement, reports of the singer’s death had circulated on social media, prompting different reactions from fans, colleagues and other public figures.

TheCable reported on Wednesday that the rumours gained attention after lawyer and Convener of the Coalition of Public Interests Lawyers and Advocates, Pelumi Olajengbesi, shared a photograph of the singer alongside a message expressing distress over the deaths of young people.

His post was interpreted by some social media users as confirmation that Toluwanisings had died.

However, gospel comedian and minister Ayo Ajewole, popularly known as Woli Agba, urged people not to draw conclusions, asking them to continue praying for the singer.

The conflicting reports created uncertainty until the family issued its announcement confirming his death.

PUNCH Newspapers also reported that an X user identified as Ennybets claimed to have been at a hospital when the singer was brought in. The user later described seeing members of the singer’s band grieving.

However, the account has not been independently verified by this publication, and the precise circumstances of the singer’s final hours remain unclear.

Toluwanisings was known for his gospel music, worship performances and energetic praise songs. His songs include Kos’Oluwa Laye, A Very Big God, E Lagbara and Unreserved Praise.

According to QED.NG, his music gained wider attention in 2021 after comedian and content creator Woli Arole shared one of his songs online, helping introduce his work to a broader audience.

His death has drawn tributes from fans and entertainment figures.

Nollywood actress Funke Akindele expressed sadness over the loss, describing the singer as humble, hardworking and gentle in a tribute reported by QED.NG.

The family has yet to announce funeral arrangements or provide further information about the circumstances of his death.
