NAHCON Approves Five Airlines for 2027 Hajj Operations
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has approved five airlines to participate in the transportation of Nigerian pilgrims for the 2027 Hajj exercise.
The commission made this known in a public notice dated August 13, 2026, stating that the approval followed a rigorous screening and evaluation process conducted by its Aviation Screening Committee.
According to NAHCON, the assessment considered regulatory safety, operational capacity and financial guidelines, while the engagement of the approved carriers remains subject to the execution of an airlift agreement with the commission.
The five approved air carriers are Max Air Limited, Air Peace Limited, UMZA Aviation Services Limited, Flynas and Saudi Air.
NAHCON said the airlines must also fulfil the requirements of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) for the 2027 Hajj operation.
The commission added that passenger allocations and airlift schedules would be worked out in collaboration with the respective State Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards and the approved operators.
It further directed that all carriers operate in line with the 2027 Hajj regulations, including the issuance of tickets linked to pilgrims’ Nusuk-Masar data, strict compliance with safety standards and adherence to baggage allowances.
The approved baggage allowance includes one 32kg checked bag and one 8kg hand luggage, as stipulated by the relevant regulatory authorities.
NAHCON called on all stakeholders to cooperate with the approved carriers to ensure a seamless, safe and comfortable airlift operation for Nigerian pilgrims during the 2027 Hajj.
