Kuwait-Funded Mosque Handed Over to Ogbomoso Muslim Community
The Kuwait Masjid located at Isokan Aje-Ikose in Ogbomoso has been officially handed over to the Ogbomosoland Muslim Community in a ceremony held on Saturday, July 25, 2026.
The mosque, which was financed and donated by Kuwaiti philanthropist Mr. Bader M.N. Al-Shuraian, was formally received on behalf of the Muslim community by the Grand Chief Imam of Ogbomosoland, Imam Yunus Olushina Teliat Ayilara II, PhD.
Describing the event as a significant milestone for Muslims in Ogbomosoland, the Grand Chief Imam expressed profound appreciation to the donor for his generosity, selflessness, and commitment to advancing the cause of Islam through the construction of the mosque.
He said the donation reflects Mr. Al-Shuraian’s dedication to supporting Muslim communities and providing a conducive environment for worship, adding that the gesture would leave a lasting impact on generations of worshippers in the area.
On behalf of the Ogbomosoland Muslim Community, Imam Ayilara offered prayers for the donor, asking Almighty Allah to reward him abundantly, bless his wealth and health, and grant him success in this world and the Hereafter.
Following the official handover, the Grand Chief Imam urged Muslims, particularly residents of Isokan Aje-Ikose and neighbouring communities, to make effective use of the new mosque by observing regular daily prayers, participating in congregational worship, and organising beneficial Islamic activities.
He noted that the mosque should serve not only as a place of worship but also as a centre for unity, peace, Islamic learning, and spiritual development within the community.
The Kuwait Masjid is expected to strengthen religious activities in the area and provide a permanent place of worship for Muslims while fostering communal harmony and religious growth in Ogbomosoland.
