Women Affairs Ministry Launches EmpowerHer Financial Literacy Programme

T The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, in partnership with a non-governmental organisation, has launched EmpowerHer, a financial literacy and empowerment initiative designed to support over 250,000 women across the country.

The programme will provide beneficiaries with financial, digital, and entrepreneurial skills to strengthen their economic participation and improve livelihood opportunities.

Speaking at the launch, the Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to advancing women’s economic inclusion as part of national development goals. She said the initiative would help build a financially literate and economically empowered generation of Nigerian women capable of driving growth within their families, communities, and the nation at large.

Founder of the partner NGO, Kathleen Erhimu, described EmpowerHer as a national movement aimed at equipping women in both the formal and informal sectors with the knowledge and confidence to build wealth, expand businesses, and take control of their futures.
