Shock as Charter Jet Crash Claims Life of Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar

I India’s political landscape was thrown into turmoil on Tuesday after a chartered jet carrying Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar allegedly crashed at Baramati airport, killing all five people on board.

The incident involved a Learjet 45 that took off from Mumbai earlier in the morning but ran into difficulty while attempting to land at Baramati. Officials in the scenario cited low visibility and runway deviation as possible causes before the aircraft erupted in flames.

The victims were said to include Pawar, two flight crew members, a personal security aide and a cabin attendant. Emergency responders reportedly arrived swiftly, but there were no survivors.

Ajit Pawar, a senior leader of the Nationalist Congress Party and nephew of veteran politician Sharad Pawar, is depicted as a dominant force in Maharashtra politics, known for his grassroots strength and strategic alliances.

The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau launches a full probe, while political leaders across party lines issue condolence messages, plunging the nation into mourning and reigniting safety concerns over chartered flights used by top officials.
