Sanwo-Olu extends work-from-home policy to ease Economic pressure

T The Lagos State government has announced the continuation of its work-from-home policy for its public sector workers for the next three months.

This strategic decision, aimed at alleviating the financial burden caused by the recent removal of fuel subsidies, was formally communicated through a circular signed by the Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, on Wednesday.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, who authorized this policy extension, has emphasized the importance of maintaining productivity while concurrently addressing the economic discomfort faced by many workers.

The circular detailed the specifics of the policy; it allows workers on grade levels 01 to 14 to work remotely for two days each week, whereas those on grade levels 15 to 17 are granted one day of remote work per week.

The decision marks a continuation of a policy that has already demonstrated positive impacts on employee productivity across various ministries, departments, and agencies within the state government.

According to Governor Sanwo-Olu, the remote work arrangement has not only eased the commute for many of the state's workers but also contributed to a more flexible and efficient working environment.

The extension of this policy took effect on September 4 and is set to last for a three-month period.
