Rampage Jackson Breaks Silence After Son’s Attack on Wrestler Stewart Smith: “A Work That Went Wrong”

F Former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has issued a statement after his son, Raja Jackson, violently attacked professional wrestler Stewart Smith—better known by his ring name Syko Stu—during a live wrestling event.

The incident, which left Smith hospitalized, shocked fans and quickly went viral online. Rampage confirmed that Smith is now “awake and stable,” while shedding light on how the situation spiraled out of control.

According to Rampage, Raja was unexpectedly struck in the head by Smith just before the wrestler’s scheduled match and was told he could “get his payback” in the ring. Believing it was part of the show, Rampage described the altercation as “bad judgment and a work that went wrong.”

“Raja had no business being inside that ring,” Rampage admitted, pointing out that his son—an aspiring MMA fighter—was already recovering from a recent concussion sustained during training.

“I don’t condone my son’s actions at all,” Rampage stressed. “As a father, I’m deeply concerned with his health and the well-being of Mr. Smith. That being said, I’m very upset that any of this happened, but my main concern now is that Mr. Smith will make a speedy recovery. I apologize on his behalf and to KICK for the situation.”

Earlier, Raja himself had defended his actions, claiming he attacked because he was tired of people “playin’” with him.

The incident has sparked debates online about safety in crossover appearances between MMA fighters and professional wrestlers, with many questioning whether the boundaries between scripted entertainment and real combat sports were blurred beyond control.
