K1 De Ultimate Jumps in Front of Plane After Clash With Flight Attendant

V Veteran Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, reportedly caused a dramatic scene at the domestic terminal of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Tuesday, after a confrontation with airline staff escalated to a shocking standoff on the runway.

According to eyewitness accounts, the music icon was already onboard a ValueJet flight when a flight attendant confronted him for drinking from a flask. The attendant suspected the flask contained alcohol — a substance prohibited on domestic flights in Nigeria — and requested that K1 surrender it. However, the musician insisted the liquid was medication prescribed by his doctor and refused to hand it over.

Following his refusal, the flight crew took the decision to deboard him from the aircraft. Enraged, K1 reportedly ran to the front of the aircraft on the tarmac, physically placing himself in front of the plane in a desperate attempt to prevent it from departing.

Airport ground staff were seen pleading with the Fuji star to leave the runway, but events took a more dangerous turn when, despite the commotion, the pilots allegedly proceeded with takeoff, narrowly avoiding a potential tragedy as K1 and airport personnel fled the scene.

In a swift response, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) announced the suspension of the pilots, citing a serious breach of aviation safety protocols. The Authority condemned the pilots’ decision to initiate takeoff while individuals were visibly present on the runway, describing it as reckless and endangering public safety.

Meanwhile, the regulatory body is also reportedly considering placing K1 De Ultimate on a ‘no-fly list’, a database typically reserved for individuals deemed security risks, including those linked to acts of violence or disruptions onboard flights.

As investigations continue, this shocking incident has sparked widespread debate over airport security, flight safety, and the behaviour of high-profile passengers onboard commercial aircraft.
